Supporting English Learners in content classrooms requires shared responsibility and intentional collaboration. This session will introduce educators to the six models of collaborative teaching that support meaningful language development while maintaining rigorous content instruction. Through examples and guided discussion, participants will explore how ESL and content teachers can plan, teach, and assess together to ensure equitable access for English Learners. Participants will also engage in a myth-busting exploration of second language acquisition, confronting common beliefs that often limit instructional practices. By understanding how English Learners actually acquire language, educators will leave better equipped to design instruction that accelerates both language development and content mastery.
